Joseph Semrad III owns and manages Scapes Inc., which he started out of his home in 1987 as Upgrade Landscape Designs. Over the last 32-years, Joe turned his start-up dream into a company Cincinnatians have grown to trust.

A Passion for the Work

Joe got his start mowing lawns growing up in the Cincinnati area. His love for the outdoors paved the way for his career.

Education

Joe studied Arboriculture at Cincinnati State. He also majored in Ornamental Horticulture and Turf-Grass Management at Morehead State while playing basketball.

Experience

While in college, he worked at several of the area’s leading garden and landscape centers.

Continuing Education

Joe stays up to date in the field by attending yearly seminars and taking classes at Cincinnati State.

Joe prides himself on being a hands-on owner. He visits every site and can usually be found working alongside his team. He exhibits his dedication to quality through his ethical business practices and well-trained employees.
